Description:

Automation Engineer to support projects on Vapor Recovery Systems and Vapor Combustors. Will also be responsible for managing all aspects of a project, including design, programming, simulation and testing, start-up/commissioning and post project support. Must have a good driving record and pass a physical examination and drug / alcohol tests. Looking for candidates who are able to work from home/ remote offices with minimal supervision. Travel will be 50% domestically with minimal weekend work. International travel would be maximum of 3 weeks abroad for each trip. Mental Requirements: Must possess strong leadership, analytical thinking, effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons inside and outside of the company. Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements. Must be able to work under stress. Must be able to handle multiple priorities. Must be able to process paperwork effectively and timely. Must be able to effectively manage electronic communications. Must be able to work as a team or independent. Physical Requirements: Must be able to go up and down stairs. Must be able to do unaccompanied travel for extended periods as needed. Must be able to tolerate shop environment and exposures associated with welding and industrial equipment, manufacturing, and apply appropriate safety equipment when required. Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in company duties. TWIC card is required for this role within 8 weeks of on boarding if not currently in possession. Must have a BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering with at least 5 years of directly related programming experience. Will consider a candidate with AS with 10 years of programming/instrumentation/controls experience. Will need experience in the following areas: High capability at initial programming, modifying, and diagnosing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or GE(Emerson) brands Capability to specify, program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) for low and medium voltage systems. Ability to work on low voltage DC to 500V AC/ 3 phase power control systems. Good understanding and knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and restrictions Excellent understanding of P&ID, electrical schematics and prints Ability to work independent on field commissioning's on both electrical and mechanical items as needed for final completion of operation Ability to provide end user training and internal cross training of others. Understanding and knowledge of NFPA 70E requirements Ability to program PID loop controls equipment and troubleshoot all voltage circuits as needed. Ability to specify and markup electrical drawings and vendor order sheets on in house projects. These will be used for shop fabrication, customer acceptance, procurement and final commissioning activities. Past experience in Industrial controls and commissioning experience is a plus.
