Our Austin office is looking for a reliable, energetic associate licensed to practice in Texas. We offer a team environment where associates work closely with partners, colleagues, staff and clients on a daily basis. Associates are involved with all phases of litigation. This is valuation litigation on behalf of appraisal district clients, not collection litigation. Experience is not required. We provide training and have a mentorship program. We are seeking a highly motivated attorney whose goal is partnership. We will consider recently licensed attorneys, and person waiting on bar results. Starting Compensation $80,000.00 / commensurate with experience Ideal attorney Licensed to practice law in Texas (Required) Organized and completes work timely and accurately Responsive Works well on a team Self-motivated and works with limited supervision Seeks out challenging and demanding assignments Committed to marketing and business development Good communication skills Wants to be in the courtroom Essential Duties Review legal documents such as pleadings, notices, and judgments Prepare for and attend court appearances Work closely with staff on litigation activities Draft discovery requests and responses Calendar and monitor all deadlines on cases Research and analyze legal issues Advise clients on tax matters Communicate with taxpayers and attorneys Develop and maintain relationships with clients Participate in marketing and networking activities Attend occasional evening and weekend events including statewide conferences Draft memorandum for the firm and for clients Ability to keep track of billable hours Professional Skills Manage a large caseload Identify and analyze complex issues Provide research that is thorough and responsive to issue at hand Write in an organized, clear and concise manner Work in a supervisory position Preferred Experience 0-5 years litigation experience.
