Assisted Living CNA, Third shift We are seeking a compassionate, CNA to join our senior assisted living care team. In this role, you will help our residents maintain a sense of independence and vitality by aiding them in daily tasks that are challenging for them. You will always put the resident's needs and safety first and work to provide a warm and caring environment. You will report to the Resident Director and help residents with daily tasks ranging from hygiene and mobility to household duties. Furthermore, this position will be primarily based in the Commons, however, you will be expected to cross train and float to the Hospital and the Nursing home when the need arises. Responsibilities: Responsible for checking on the residents while they sleep. Reminds residents to take medications at proper time. If the resident has a problem, the floor assistant will report the problem to the administrator. The assistant will be "on call" in the event a resident needs medical assistance. Keeps a daily record of resident activity/problems. Maintains the floors in the dining area. Cleaning and Laundry duties. If required, the assistant will provide a wake-up call for a resident. Sends medication trays to medication area on a weekly basis to be refilled. Answers the phone in the absence of the unit secretary. Provide compassionate yet professional companionship and conversation. Staff assistant available from 6:30 am to 6:30pm (A-Shift), and 6:30pm to 6:30am (B-Shift). Monitor and report any concerning changes in residents' behavior or condition. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred Certification as a CNA, PCA, or HHA preferred Must be willing to provide compassionate holistic care with dignity and respect. Significant work experience in a residential care facility is strongly preferred. Great communication and interpersonal skills Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills. Good conversation skills and a friendly demeanor Able to work independently with little supervision. Able to maintain organized logs of activities and services provided. Physically capable of doing work that requires standing, lifting, bending, and pushing. Patient and calm, especially in difficult situations Reliable, compassionate, and willing to serve others.
