DAY-TO-DAY FOR AN ASSISTANT SCHOOL DIRECTOR As an Assistant School Director, you play a vital role in helping students with disabilities reach their full potential. You're the big cheese overseeing all the nitty-gritty daily operations at our school, making sure our students with disabilities get a top-notch education and care. Get ready to wear more hats than a magician at a circus! You supervise staff, keep tabs on the program census, and make sure we've got enough folks on deck. But wait, there's more! You are also a stickler for detail as you tackle paperwork for billing, evaluate education, observe teachers, review lesson plans, administer state assessments, submit reports and stats, and take notes on the students. You're a regular encyclopedia when it comes to kiddos with disabilities and other special needs, and you're an awesome resource for our teachers. You hook them up with resources and referral info and make sure everyone's on the same page at team meetings. Plus, you are the mastermind behind staff development and teacher recertifications. Last but not least, you're the life of the party when it comes to getting families involved in our educational program. WORK SCHEDULE You work a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm . WHAT WE NEED IN AN ASSISTANT SCHOOL DIRECTOR Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field Able to meet all requirements determined by the State of NY Bureau of Licensing to be the substitute for the Director in his or her absence Certified in Infant and Child CPR, CPR, and First Aid Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Covid-19 vaccination A master's degree and three years of experience as an administrator in an early childhood education program are preferred but not required.
