We are looking for an Assistant Manager to help oversee Laughing Gull Pool Bar and Restaurant! Summary: The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned Food & Beverage outlets to ensure optimum performance, exceptional guest service, and maximum profitability of all functions. S/he will train and motivate staff to exceed goals. The Assistant Restaurant Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills. The Assistant Restaurant Manager shall always strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice! Essential Job Functions: Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction Leads and supervises the outlets' team Prepares forecasts and reports and assists in the development of the food & beverage budgetEnsures physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant, including inspecting tabletops and side stations Takes initiative to develop and execute new promotions, events, etc. Conducts monthly staff meetings to include ongoing training and safety classesWorks with culinary to develop new food menus responsive to the local marketEnforces high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the outlets Tracks payroll and revenue daily Ensures the security of monies, credit, and financial transactions Establishes par levels for supplies and equipment Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance, and conduct of the teamImplements strategies to continually improve revenuesTakes a proactive approach to coaching and counselingAttends appropriate resort, division, and department meetingsResolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectivenessMaintains a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, especially food & beverageUtilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costsMaintains up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationCommunicates all pertinent information to the outlets' teamMaintains a constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to the on-duty supervisor.Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standardsRemains alert, courteous, and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times The Colleague is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Working Conditions: Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat); Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to repetitively lift, push, pull & carry up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs. Must be able to twist, bend and squat frequently; kneel or crawl occasionally; infrequently climb a ladder Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements, pushing and pulling, and simple grasping frequently; squeezing, overhead reaching & fine manipulation occasionally.
