Assistant Quality ManagerYour role:AsAssistant Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the compliance of quality and food safety regulations and policies at thismulti-facetedfacility. You will identify opportunities and make recommendations to simplify and streamline day to day work processes. You will inspire people to achieve things they never thought possible."To succeed, you must be able to:Deliver results in first-time situations by inspiring others and working to earn trust every dayServe others with understanding, respect, and careOperate with simplicity, clarity and transparencyDeal with and drive changeOrganize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting or exceeding deadlinesLearn and apply new technology, and share your knowledge with othersAbove all you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.Your responsibilities:Analyze, interpret, and implementQuality/Food Safety policies and customer standardsManage the wheat pipeline to ensure wheat shipped to the mill meets customer needs, optimizes mill performance, and is in alignment with regulatory standardsMaintain customer audit programs and agreed 3rd party certificationManage customer documentation, specifications, and ensure active customer supportBuild relationships with local customers to uncover opportunities that lead to value creation and strengthen ties between our companiesOwnership within Integrated Pest ManagementMaintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards, and sanitation practicesEssential skills and experience:Bachelor's degree with 1-3 yearsor High School diploma/GED with 5-7years of QualitySystems and Food Safety experience in flour milling or related manufacturing industryKnowledge of the following programs:Food Safety PlanIntegrated Pest ManagementGood Manufacturing PracticesFood Microbiology and ChemistryFDA and USDA Regulatory requirementsDemonstrated ability to interact with customers and help solve problemsPCQIand HACCPcertificationGood to have:2yearsof managementexperienceKnowledge of Grain MarketExperience working effectively with customers, including solving customer problemsDemonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations; ability to deliver aligned and effective processesExperience teaching and training others on food safetyKnowledge ofGFSI Audit StandardsExperience with project management, including applying structured approach to planning, administering and completing projects successfullyDemonstrated understanding of Statistical Process Control and ability to complete elementary statistical analysisPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions (With or without reasonable accommodation):Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:Heat/cold temperatures (inclement weather)Indoor/outdoor environmentDusty environmentNoisy environmentFrequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processesElevated places, to include stairs/laddersAbility to perform work at a computer and other administrative/managerial tasksOther Considerations:Willing to work weekends, holidays, 7-day weeks, and opposing shifts, when neededAbility to travel5-10%Willing to relocate as promotional opportunities exist throughout careerExcept where prohibited by law, all offers of employment are conditioned upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check and/or drug testMust be authorized to work in the Unites states without sponsorship now and in the futureTeam members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.The preceding position description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this position. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate's unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $71,700.00 - $95,603.20, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved.
