Greater Valley YMCA - Westgate Childcare Center is looking to hire an Assistant Preschool Teacher (Part Time) ! Location: Westgate Childcare : 2435 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem PA 18017 ABOUT Greater Valley YMCA Greater Valley YMCA is a charitable, nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all . Assistant Preschool Teacher Salary : $14.75 - $17.00/hour Assistant Preschool Teacher Hours : Monday - Friday up to 29 hours per week (part time, year round position) Assistant Preschool Teacher Responsibilities : Assists with implementing curriculum within the established guidelines through lesson planning and a developmentally appropriate classroom environment Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards Complies with PA DHS Regulations and Keystone Stars Standards and YMCA Guidelines Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA Maintains required program records, including child files and child portfolios Performs other duties as assigned Assistant Preschool Teacher Qualifications : High School Graduate or equivalent Minimum eighteen (18) years old 2500 or more documentable hours of experience working with children Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, FBI Clearance, NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry Clearance) (paid for by the YMCA) Health Assessment and TB Test Two written references documenting experience with children. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
