The primary function of an Assistant General Manager to work in tandem with the General Manager to advance initiatives to increase sales and regulate costs of the restaurant in order to run a successful business. It is of the utmost importance to balance these responsibilities while also providing a lucrative and safe environment for your staff. This is an opportunity for growth for the right individual and could develop into an eventual GM position. should the AGM chose to pursue that path. The AGM should make decisions that are in the best interests of the company and there should always be coverage between the GM and the AGM during peak volume. General Purpose of this positionEnsure the restaurant always reflects the Frothy Monkey Brand. Plan and direct all restaurant operations. Maintain high standards of food, service, health, and safety in a fast-paced, high volume environment. Ensure efficient and profitable business performance and optimize the utilization of staff and resources. Manage and train staff in a positive way while ensuring hospitality is a key point of service. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities(Hospitality, Staffing, Organizational & Administrative, Operations) Hospitality advise customers on food and beverage choicesinteract with customers to ensure all inquiries and complaints are handled promptlyidentify regulars and maintain relationshipsdisplay hospitable behaviors and coach staff on how to do the sameidentify and interact in community events and groups that present opportunities for the restaurantanticipate situations that could adversely affect a customer and remedyseek out feedback from customers and apply feedback as necessary display sincerity when communicating with customers Staffing assess staffing requirements and recruit staff when neededtrain and coach staffset operating goals and objectivesmanage staff performance in accordance with established standards and proceduresmonitor/adjust staff schedules (anticipate special events, parties, holidays)ensure staff know and adhere to established core valuestreat employees well, show appreciation and gratitude when possibledisplay objectivity when dealing with staff issues Organizational & Administrative plan and monitor restaurant sales and revenueset and monitor budgetsanalyze budget variances and take corrective actionsestablish and implement financial controlsprepare and analyze management reportsanalyze food and beverage coststotal restaurant receipts and reconcile with salesensure cash management procedures are completed accuratelycheck and order supplies of non-food itemsmaintain business recordsmaintain employee records keep records of health and safety practices Operations prepare and implement standard operating procedurescoordinate restaurant operations during each shiftmonitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards in kitchen and restaurantensure compliance with restaurant security proceduresensure alcohol regulations are adhered tooversee preparation of food and beverage itemsensure adherence to set recipesensure quality of food and beverage presentationobserve size of food portions and preparation quantities to minimize wasteschedule food and beverage deliveriescheck quality of deliveries and documentationensure correct storage of suppliesarrange for maintenance and repairs of equipment and servicesidentify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements and place orders with suppliersdetermine and execute operating improvements supervise marketing and promotional activities Knowledge and Experience previous experience in food and beverage managementin-depth working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beveragesin-depth working knowledge of food preparation and presentationexperience in staff management and developmentknowledge of basic accounting principles and practicesexperience in analyzing financial dataknowledge of planning and forecastingtrack record of managing inventory and cost controlknowledge of administrative procedures able to use relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office) {Key Competencies} decision-making | judgment | problem analysis and problem-solving | planning and organizing | resource management | communication | hospitality-focused | quality-oriented | teamwork | adaptability | flexibility | high energy level | stress tolerance | work ethic | empathy | self awareness | intelligence | the desire to learnFrothy Monkey offers an inclusive and creative workplace.Our team members have the opportunity to collaborate with others, grow professionally, and contribute to a growing company.
