VOLT is seeking an Assistant EHS Manager (bi-lingual English/Spanish) in Bartlett, IL for a well-known, growing food products supplier. If you have a passion for safety and high quality food products developing teams, then this is the position for you!Perks: 17 days of PTO and 10 paid holidays for 1st yearSalary: $75,000 - 85,000/year plus yearly bonus.*As the Assistant Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager you will be responsible for: * Overseeing and fostering a culture that promotes employee safety and ensuring compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety laws. This includes 3 manufacturing plants on one campus and one offsite office. * Interacting with 700+ employees at all levels of the organization and provides training as needed. * Inspecting the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. * Developing health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. * Preparing and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. * Monitoring compliance with safety procedures. * Drafting inspection reports to document inspection findings. * Ensuring that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed. * Managing on-site Safety Committees and provides follow-up action when required. * Responsible for all environmental reporting and compliance. * Establishing and conducting preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs. * Overseeing and updates Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for injury and incident notification, performs accident investigation, and provides case management. * Maintaining OSHA compliance and written log of safety inspection activities, reports, submits OSHA 300 log, and handles all safety related correspondence. * Performing emergency response drills and schedules all safety related training. * Leading Risk Assessment activities and ensure corresponding documentation for corrective action is complete and up to date. * Overseeing inspections of fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, exit lights and forklifts. * Assists HR with the administration of the Workers Compensation program and works closely with HR to oversee return to work and light duty programs. * Conducting job safety analysis, job hazard analysis and risk assessments on assigned tasks and jobs. * Executing proper management of the sites' hazardous waste management activities to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations and standards. * Partnering with Plant Managers and Human Resources regarding accountability and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy. * Leading and delivers New Employee Safety Training * Accountable for the execution of all sites' Environmental Permit Compliance, including the sites' air permit, Stormwater, Water, TIER II, TRI Form R, Spill Control and Wastewater. * Responsible for all ammonia related compliance including annual SOP review, Risk Management Plan (RMP), Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM). * The Asst. EHS Manager will also administer first aid when required.This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.The ideal candidate will have: * Bachelor's Degree in an EHS-related field and 5+ years of EHS experience including training and experience in a manufacturing environment is required. * Bi-lingual Spanish and English required. * Fluency in Spanish is required. * OSHA 511 - OSHA Standards for General Industry course completion. * Experience in food manufacturing and GMPs is highly preferred. * Experience with ammonia and glycol cooling systems is a plus. * Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) safety standards and EPA regulations and policies including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO). * Ability to inspire, persuade, and coach at all levels of an organization. * Must have the tact, motivational managerial skills to achieve desired results though a manage-by-influence model where direct lines of authority do not exist. * Must have proficiency in lecture, hands-on and guided discussion methods in a variety of classroom and field environment * Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills including a high level of comfort developing and delivering training and motivational presentations to all levels of employees * Must have a high degree of confidentiality * Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections. * Prolonged periods of walking, climbing stairs. * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.Salary: $75,000 - 85,000/year + yearly 5% bonus*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
