Doane University , a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences university in Crete, Nebraska, invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Campus Engagement - Fraternity & Sorority Life. The Assistant Director serves as a member of the Campus Engagement team to provide leadership, strategic vision and planning for a comprehensive portfolio of programs and services that drive co-curricular involvement for all Doane University students, with a focus on fraternity and sorority life. The Assistant Director fosters the development of Doane's fraternity and sorority system, their individual members, advisors and alumni; contributes to student leadership development and connection to the larger Doane community, and; must possess a broad and deep understanding of national best practices and innovations to promote a robust fraternity and sorority system that is part of a students' overall co-curricular experience. The Assistant Director collaborates with multiple campus and community partners on all campuses to achieve these outcomes. Diversity, equity and inclusion are mission-imperative areas in the Doane community, and the assistant director should be a leader in promoting an inclusive and equitable environment. Co-curricular programs must model an environment that supports students of all identities, worldviews, and backgrounds, while actively identifying and eliminating systemic barriers that have created disparities in outcomes for underrepresented students. Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Required for Position: Full-time professional experience in Student Affairs or within a college/university setting Demonstrated commitment to and support of diversity, equity and inclusion. Experience advising student organizations, including experience in fraternity and sorority life. Experience developing training, policies and procedures to support student organization success. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including: public speaking; listening; writing, including the ability to write comprehensive reports. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse population of constituents, including but not limited to, students, faculty, staff and alumni. Strong project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks at once. Technology savvy, including community engagement platforms, leveraging branding and social media marketing strategies relevant to student engagement in the digital marketplace. Self-starter and change-oriented. Must be able to work effectively with high-energy college students. Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Preferred for Position: More than 3 years of full-time professional experience in Student Affairs, fraternity and sorority life or closely related field. Experience with local fraternity and sorority chapters. Experience creating and implementing programs and services to support nonresidential student populations. Membership and involvement in related professional associations (NACA, AFA, NASPA) Experience with the development and implementation of assessment strategies to measure program effectiveness. Education/Training: Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling or closely related field required.
