GEORGE FOX UNIVERSITY Assistant/Associate Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program Job Description George Fox University is seeking an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) in the rank of Associate/Assistant Professor for its new Doctor in Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. It is a full-time, 11-month position in Occupational Therapy (OTD) program with leadership and administration of the program's fieldwork requirements. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) is responsible for administering the clinical education part of George Fox University's OTD curriculum. The AFWC ensures the OTD program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements. It is a faculty position with student advisement, teaching, service responsibilities, and scholarship along with the main role of administration of clinical education. He/She will also teach OTD courses in the curriculum and will ensure the OTD program's compliance with ACOTE accreditation and fieldwork requirements. This individual works closely with the Doctoral Coordinator and reports directly to the OTD Program Director. Education and Experience: The successful candidate will possess a Doctoral degree from a USDE-recognized accredited program and be a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Oregon, with a minimum of three years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist. Preferred Qualifications Prior or current experience as Academic Fieldwork coordinator Experience with ACOTE accreditation process and innovation with the hybrid educational model Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Clinical Site Development and participating in the planning and coordination of clinical education functions Provides clinical education site development through ongoing evaluation and assessment of strengths and areas for development (e.g., in service training, discontinue student placements) as approved by the Program Directors Assesses student performance, monitors student progress, and provides timely feedback Serves as university liaison in community and/or professional activities Communicates between the Academic Institution, Affiliated Clinical Education Sites, and all concerned stakeholders Places, supervises, and communicates with students while on clinical experiences and Provides guidance and support as required to problem solve and discuss pertinent issues with students. Evaluates each clinical education site through student feedback, on-site visits, and ongoing communications, and routinely shares this information with academic faculties Attends AFWC meetings and local consortium meetings Maintains the procedures for clinical site selection, utilization, and assessment Maintains an adequate number of clinical education sites relative to quality, quantity and diversity of learning experiences to meet the educational needs of students, the philosophy and outcomes of the program, and ACOTE evaluative criteria Coordinates or participates in the development of clinical education faculty Analyzes the clinical education and doctoral capstone experiential component/residency program academic outcomes for compliance to accreditation standards Appropriately communicates to faculty and program directors on student and curriculum information Manage and teach OTD courses and engage in scholarship, and service activities for the Institution. Demonstrate professional skills and interactions that support the mission and vision of the OTD program and the university.
