About the role We are looking for proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Area Managers to work Nights at our Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Erith; Kent. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing the performance of a designated department within the warehouse of the CFC in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring all targets are met without loss in performance to the business and within the site management structure. As an Area Manager you will lead the daily running of site operations with responsibilities relating to all aspects of site safety and quality of service, delivering operational targets within the agreed budget and time frame. You will report to the Operations Manager and may be required to deputise in their absence, as well as handling all aspects of employee management such as probation periods, absence management and performance management. This role is for 48 hours per week, working 18:00 - 06:00 on an any 4 days from 7 rotation. Due to having two rotating teams to cover the operation, there will be occasions where both teams are working on the same day, on a crossover shift, meaning there will be a requirement to occasionally work a 5th day per week, as needed. Please note the Area Manager role within Ocado involves managing the warehouse operatives and the day to day running of a single department within the warehouse and not multiple sites across a region.
