To expand our team and help support our growing user base, we are looking for an Application Scientist specializing in advanced light-sheet microscopy in the areas of developmental biology, neuroscience and live and cleared sample imaging. Responsibilities As part of the North American sales, applications and customer care teams, you will primarily lead applications support of our light-sheet product lines. You will be called upon to provide training, support and scientific expertise to customers related to light-sheet microscopy in the areas of developmental biology, neuroscience, and general live and cleared sample imaging. This position is expected to help grow and promote our instrumentation through demonstrations, scientific presentations, application notes, hosting of webinars, and close collaboration with the marketing, sales and service teams. Regular visits to customer sites are expected to build customer relationships, perform service on instruments, and to help uncover new sales opportunities. Essential Functions: Provide applications support to our customers through trainings, presentations, and demonstrations related to light-sheet microscopy in the areas of developmental biology, neuroscience, live/cleared sample imaging and related topicsAttend tradeshows, exhibitions, conferences, and workshops to promote Bruker instrumentsProvide post-sales application training at customer site, in-house, or remotely. Assist in developing customer training programs, course materials, and course agenda.Help qualify opportunities with sales team by understanding customer applications and requirements and conveying best Bruker solution or product configuration.Participation in the development of new products, applications, and servicesTest new pre-production prototypes and suggest application-specific feedback to development teamsTravel with sales colleagues to customer sites to answer questions and give high level technical presentations on Bruker's products and solutions.Perform onsite service and maintenance on instruments on an as needed basis.Help provide technical responses to tenders and bidsFind and curate library of relevant publications using Bruker instrumentationAdvise product management and engineering teams on scientific trends and suggest improvements to current productsCreate high quality content in collaboration with Marketing-Communications teams for publication and promotionContribute to other operational and strategic goals on an as-needed basis Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform the above job functions successfully an individual must have demonstrable character traits, knowledge, and skills such as:Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and virtual.A positive team player, self-motivated, and able to act autonomously.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mentality.Organized with solid time management & good multitasking skills.Able to work under pressure to meet business goals.Fluent in English - other languages would be an advantageAbility and willingness to travel primarily in North America, but with occasional international tripsThree years hands-on experience advanced fluorescence microscopy products and methods, especially Bruker/Luxendo light-sheet microscopy. Experience and strong theoretical and practical background with neuroscience and cleared sample imaging. EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate should have interest, knowledge, and background in light-sheet imaging instrumentation. They should have excellent theoretical grasp of fundamentals and be able to explain the principles of how these instruments work clearly and concisely to non-experts in the field. Masters or PhD degree in biological field (preferably neuroscience-related), physics, engineering, or related field.At least 3 years of experience with light-sheet microscopes desired.PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work within office and biological laboratory environmentsMust be able to pushcart and/or lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally to move and unpack instrumentation.Bruker Corporation offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, and tuition assistance (as applicable). At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $73,845 and $107,200 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
