Association Headquarters is searching for an Application Program Director for its client partner, The Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC). BGC is a Lansing, Michigan-based organization. The Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC) is the premier global credentialing body for professionals who protect and enhance the health, safety, and environment of people at work and in their communities. Our rigorous, reliable, and valid credentialing process elevates the expectations of professionals who work in the environment, health, and safety (EHS) fields and allows them to demonstrate their commitment and ability to work at the highest level. BGC understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification activities, so the Board and staff manage conflicts of interest and ensure the objectivity of all certification activities. BGC will evaluate all applicants and Certificants using the criteria established and will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, religion, age, disability, political affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, marital, parental, military, or any other legally protected status. Position Description Summary: The Application Program Director implements the process for applying and reapplying for BGC credentials; provides guidance, information, and interpretations of requirements to volunteers and applicants as needed. This position reports to the CEO of the BGC organization. Essential Function(s) of the Position: Evaluates all new applications and any reapplications over two years old, ensuring that only those which have met requirements for exam eligibility are approved Provides real-time and media-based guidance to potential applicants on certification requirements Provides formative evaluation and feedback for applicants to meet certification requirements Assures the accuracy of applicant records and documentation Follows BGC processing and procedural requirements Assures the secure handling of documents Assures efficient and timely workflows Brings ethics issues forward involving applicants Evaluates documentation and develops acceptable documentation standards in the processing of applications Monitors internal processes (document control, internal audits, etc.) related to application/reapplication accreditation requirements Provides input for accreditation reports. Provides recommendations for process improvements and cost reduction Drafts Monitoring Reports for the Board of Directors related to Applications/Reapplications Develops measures to monitor and ensure effective, efficient, and friendly customer service Identifies and monitors trends in applicant populations and in academic trends for future business use and process improvement Streamlines applications and verification statements initiative Develops and revises Application/Reapplication resources to ensure their currency and intelligibility, including Candidate Handbook, outreach materials, and content for web Engages with stakeholders to promote certification Coordinates work of committees on applications and provides information for specialized reviews Participates in BGC Board activities, including in-person board meetings, conference calls, and committee meetings as needed Assists and supports the CEO in the development and execution of strategic planning, project planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, and information management relative to organizational growth and reputation. Other tasks as required to meet organizational needs Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and five years related experience, or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Confidentiality Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills Volunteer coordination skills Ability to work independently within established guidelines. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict deadlines. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Above average customer service skills; ability to handle elevated customer service situations diplomatically. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Adaptability and flexibility with learning new systems and processes. Ability to multitask. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels, both within and outside of the practices. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with other staff members. Equipment and Software Used: General office; computers Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with or ability to learn databases and CRM platforms.
