Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer [Req # T2941] in Santa Clara, CA, to: identify critical gaps in technologies, and implement new/enhanced solutions, throughout the product lifecycle. Provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions. Technically lead difficult, complex systems application operations, and lead execution teams beta-sites, evaluation and demos at customers site. Interface with customers to analyze systems requirements, technical requirements analysis, and implementation schedules. Define/approve Product application support plans for installation. Develop and lead new methodologies in order to optimized system performance for specific application. Analyze, develop and transfer new application capabilities in the system envelope, from product division to customer application support team. Lead customer Technical review meetings, and explain difficult or sensitive technical information, working to build consensus. Interact with Process Tool Development teams to define Design of Experiments that leverage E-beam Metrology to maximize learning regarding process tool development. Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Materials Science, Solid State Materials, Materials Engineering, Engineering Physics or closely related field, and two (2) years of industry experience in the position offered or related capacity(ies). Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following: (1) ability to use and have knowledge of SEM based metrology and SEM automation system; (2) statistical data analytics techniques based on the analysis of multiple sources of information; (3) have general knowledge of and/or exposure to semiconductor industry, process and/or metrology; (4) programming languages such as Python or Matlab; and (5) performing CNfs and Qualification of new Imaging and Defectivity approaches.
