Our Client, Dorchester Paws, is searching for a Director of Operations for their Animal Shelter! SUMMARY The Director of Operations is a full-time position overseeing the front-of-house staff to ensure proper animal care protocols are followed . In addition to training front-of-house staff and performing reviews for the front-of-house , the Director of Operations maintain s a constant flow throughout the shelter regarding animal movement . The Director of Operations also maintains the budget for shelter income and expenses and reports directly to the Executive Director. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES Make and implement hiring decisions for all front-of-house positions in alignment with the organizational chart and needs Hire, supervise, evaluate, promote, discipline, and terminate shelter staff Develop new programs and services Perform annual performance reviews for front-of-house employees Disburse funds within approved budget limits Communicate with HR about st aff Ensure proper procedures and policy documentation s are complete for the entire shelter and available to staff Continue to improve customer service at the shelter and teamwork among staff members Communicate with HR about postings for job openings Expedite and o versee all animal movement with i ntakes, adoptions, foster/rescue, spay/neuter surgeries, and veterinary care Coordinate adoption events with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Animal Care Manager Point of contact for Animal Control Ensure all national animal databases are up to date with shelter statistics Assist with shelter maintenance Ensure all cleaning protocols are followed and in line with shelter standards WORK ENVIRONMENT The Director of Operations will work both indoors and outdoors . Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time . Must be able to stand , walk, and move for extended periods of time . Must be able to have reliable transportation to conduct all work in and out of the s helter in Summerville . This role requires flexibility and the ability to stand, lift, kneel, crouch, and bend .
