The beautiful City of New Carrollton is looking for a highly motivated Animal Control Officer that will enforce laws concerning the care and treatment of animals, protect and rescue domesticated animals, and maintain public health standards. Essential Functions may include but are not limited to: Transporting animals to the county shelter and returning healthy wildlife to the wild depending on the assessment of various factors Conducting parking enforcement tasks and crossing guard duties; assessing and enforcing parking violations Providing command staff with monthly reports on parking enforcement and animal control statistics Impounding domesticated at-large and wild animals Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma/GED supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college in law enforcement, criminal justice, or closely related field.
