Job Title: AM CookReports to: Kitchen/Prepared Foods Manager and Assistant ManagerPurpose: To support the Fiddleheads Kitchen team by producing a wide selection of grab and go offerings. Primary Responsibilities:? Cook and/or Prepare items on production list as assigned.? Prioritize daily tasks.? Assess and complete any prep needed for the recipe before beginning production.? Mastery of primary culinary skills and techniques specific to preparation requirements.? Label, date and stock all prepared items.? Perform routine kitchen tasks.? Accurately read a thermometer.? Follow sanitation guidelines.? Maintain food quality standards.? Perform calmly and effectively under pressure.? Strong attention to detail.? Seek support or propose resolutions when difficulties arise.? Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful conditions. Food Service Sanitation and Maintenance:? Keep kitchen, appliances, and work area clean and orderly.? Clean spills promptly.? Take out trash, mop and sweep as needed.? Follow proper food safety, storage, and labeling procedures.? Advise a supervisor of equipment repair or replacement needs.? Participate in inventory counts.? Assist with scheduled deep cleaning. Safety:? Safely and efficiently use knives and other utensils.? Follow all established safety procedures.? Encourage others to practice safe behaviors. Customer Service:? Be open and ready to assist customers.? Follow through on all customer questions and requests.? Provide nutritional info and reheating advice.? Assist customers in a prompt, friendly, courteous manner.? Resolve customer complaints in a fair and tactful manner. Communication:? Communicate respectfully, openly and honestly.? Listen attentively to others, ask questions, and remain open to other viewpoints.? Demonstrate empathic listening skills. Teamwork:? Work cooperatively with other staff.? Accept and offer feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully.? Be flexible and willing to assist others.? Be positive and professional in all interactions.? Attend meetings as directed. Problem Solving:? Take the initiative to identify and resolve problems.? Hold yourself accountable.? Make sound decisions. Additional General Responsibilities:? Know what makes Co-ops unique and how to explain/promote Fiddleheads membership.? Develop working knowledge of where products are in the store and/or where to locate information about products.? Orient and be helpful to new employees.? Set a positive example for co-workers.? Maintain good working relations with other Fiddleheads staff.? Encourage and demonstrate good team behaviors.? Follow policies & procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook. Qualifications:? Ability to develop and maintain favorable relations with customers and staff.? Ability to work with minimal supervision.? Ability to work independently.? Excellent customer service skills.? Ability to effectively handle stressful situations.? Excellent communications skills.? Ability to properly lift 30-50 pounds.? Ability to stand for 8 hours per day.? Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, balance and rotate body.? Possess fine motor skills to perform basic kitchen tasks.
