Air Assault and Airborne Doctrine Writer - Louisville, KY Level: Experienced Position: Type Exempt Education Level: Bachelors Degree/Masters preferred Travel: 10% Job Summary Doctrine Writer will operate as part of a Project Team on a multi-year program to develop an Armed Forces Airborne Doctrine Program to enable the planning, preparation, execution, and assessment of Joint Airborne Operations. The Air Assault Doctrine writer will collaborate with other doctrine writers, both on-site and remotely, to develop doctrinal publications. This position requires tactical and operational experience, as well as developing unit capabilities to achieve organizational mandates and missions. Desired Qualifications Retired or former military officer (NATO) with extensive tactical and operational experience with Air Assault or Airborne Operations Ability to provide expert advice, counsel, and instruction to senior military leaders on tactical and operational Air Assault doctrine Excellent verbal, written, management and leadership skills to effectively accomplish the duties and mission Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in on-site and distributed work environments with minimal oversight in a variety of roles Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills (emphasis in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) Possess active Secret or higher security clearance or the ability to obtain an interim clearance Possess a valid Passport (with more than 6 months to expiration) Joint operations experience is desired Master's Degree or BA in military science, national security studies, or a related field Staff College Graduate or higher or NATO equivalent Ten or more years of military experience in Air Assault organizations, preferably in an operational setting Experience with force design, doctrine or concepts development, equipment and manpower documentation, or resourcing at Division level staff or higher Work history in the Middle East desired Education and/or Experience: Master's Degree or BA in military science, national security studies, or a related field Staff College Graduate or higher or NATO equivalent Ten or more years of military experience in Air Assault organizations, preferably in an operational setting Experience with force design, doctrine or concepts development, equipment and manpower documentation, or resourcing at Division level staff or higher Work history in the Middle East desired NOTE: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees with this classification.
