As Phase Four is bringing its first products to customers and developing next generation capabilities, the Power Electronics engineer will contribute to all aspects of electronics development across the company. You will work directly with engineers across disciplines to execute on a wide range of projects to bring RF plasma thrusters to the space industry. Leadership is expected in product architecture and engineering, as well as research and development projects. As such, you will have a high degree of autonomy to test and grow new electrical systems as you deem necessary to meet current and upcoming needs. Responsibilities: Manage the development of electronic systems, focusing on DC power systems, to support next generation RF plasma thrusters on small satellites Contribute to flight qualification and support rapid design iteration and vacuum validation testing Perform trade studies, performance analyses, requirements flow-downs, and generate test plans Implement solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while maintaining cost and schedule requirements Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of aerospace electrical systems development Demonstrated ability to take on new, complex electrical engineering problems from scratch Demonstrated design/build/test experience of analog electronics and DC-DC power conversion systems Mastery of complex avionics design, fabrication, test, qualification and delivery Excellent communication skills in writing and in-person presentations Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Desired Experience: 8+ years of aerospace electrical systems development 3+ years of work on high efficiency DC and RF power conversion Experience operating plasma apparatus and/or electric propulsion systems Experience with EMI/EMC testing of aerospace hardware Experience with radiation testing of electronic prototypes Being a part of the Phase Four team means: Competitive Salary- Rocket science is hard enough, finding a comfortable place to live shouldn't be.
