About the Els for Autism Foundation Els for Autism Foundation was established in 2009 by Liezl and Ernie Els. The Els' son, Ben, is impacted by autism spectrum disorder, which affects 1 in 36 children in the U.S. The Foundation offers innovative, evidence-based programs for families and individuals across the lifespan in six focus areas: Education, Research, Global Support, Recreation Services, Adult Services and Therapy Services. The Els for Autism Foundation serves families around the world and offers in-person programs and services at The Els Center of Excellence® in Jupiter, Florida. Purpose of Position: This position will work with the ADP team to develop, plan, implement and assess programs for adults with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities. The instructor will plan and teach activities that that enable participants to increase independent living, communication, and pre-vocational skills in preparation for paid employment. Key duties and responsibilities: Collaborate with coworkers to conduct applicant interviews, screenings, and orientation for the Adult Day Program Develop visual and communication supports for program participants and complete referrals for clinical services and supports as needed Work with appropriate staff to review individual support plans for each program participant to ensure delivery of instruction matches goals Create and /or implement group activities related to recreation and independent living such as fitness, grocery shopping, meal prep and pre-employment Create groupings and natural support systems to fit the needs of each participant Utilize Applied Behavior Analytic principles and explicit and systematic instructional techniques to maximize behavior management Assist in the administration of assessments and data collection and Client files as required by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities Embed self-determination activities in designated services and supports Remain actively engaged supporting participants directly, modeling appropriate behaviors, and collaborating with community partners Display a high standard of integrity and conduct while serving as a representative and ambassador for the Els for Autism, its mission, and the vision of the Els Family. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Rehabilitation, Therapeutic Recreation, Social work or a related field Minimum two years of experience teaching/coaching/developing curriculum for adults with autism and related developmental disabilities Training in Applied Behavior Analysis and experience with community-based instruction for individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities is preferred Job Posted by ApplicantPro
