A description of the business units can be found at: Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas: Office of Appeals Shared Administrative Support 42 Vacancies- Will be filled in any Appeals location listed within this announcement. The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.Analyzes proposed and existing Office procedures and directives for conformance to existing policy and procedures, for clarity, to avoid duplication or conflict with other issuances, and to recommend appropriate corrective action. Assures an understanding of the Area Directors' view on various problems and work situations not requiring a comprehensive technical knowledge of Appeals issues. Reviews and identifies trends that affect administrative operations for the Organization and recommends new or changed procedures to resolve potential or existing problems.Supports operational reviews and special projects carried out by the Directors. Gathers requested information and statistics; researches a variety of issues; summarizes and assembles data and provides necessary supporting documentation for correspondence and/or reports for the Area Directors' use.Develops, installs and maintains systems for control of the location, arrangement, access to, and use of files (electronics and paper); for maintenance, transfer, and disposition of records; for development of reference indices; and for provision of similar or related services.Maintains confidential files required by the Area Directors and other administrative and general files in the office. Prepares and reviews a number of highly confidential and sensitive documents. Prepares and maintains recurring and ad hoc reports using prescribed formats and sources of information applicable to the program. To learn more, please visit our page at: Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes providing office administrative support, such as gathering and analyzing information to present to management, preparing correspondence, maintaining a calendar and writing meeting agenda/meeting notes for support services. Experience giving presentations at group meetings on new clerical/technical office procedures. Experience in problem solving by analyzing facts and recommending solutions to management. Experience in communicating effectively both orally and in writing. AND Typing Proficiency: Candidates must meet the typing proficiency and office automation skills, as well as the experience required for this position. Applicants must be a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors).Federal experience is not required.
