Adjunct - Medical Assistant

Viterbo University is accepting applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor. The Adjunct Instructor, and medical Assistant, will report to the Director of the Center for Professional Learning. This is a non-credit instructional course. In a groundbreaking partnership, Viterbo University and Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) will partner to offer a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This joint venture will be the first 4-year college partnership in the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Developments' 110 years of apprenticeship. The Adjunct Instructor will prepare students with the onsite didactic knowledge and skills needed to become a Medical Assistant. Examples of courses are: Medical Terminology, Administrative Procedures, Basic Patient Intake, Pharmacology, and other related medical skill classes. Responsibilities Teaches courses and manages the classroom/ apprenticeship as assigned within part-time faculty workload guidelines. Provides supervision of students in the learning environment. Utilizes technology and equipment as appropriate in all courses assigned. Participates in program and student outcomes assessment. Assists with the revision and updating of all program syllabi, lectures, lab exercises/tests, and updates in instructional materials as appropriate. Works cooperatively with the Dean, Director, Mayo Clinic Representative, and other key stakeholders Minimum Qualifications : Must demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field. Bachelor's degree required; Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, National Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse or equivalent is required. Professional-level teaching in a variety of formats and professional experience is preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the Employment Visa. Salary : This is a part-time appointment. Salary is competitive with other private institutions of similar size, mission, and educational philosophy. For best consideration apply on Viterbo's website by November 4, 2022.
