Deliver health with care. About the Position A Rehab Registered Nurse at Lifespan provides care for patients in our Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center. This unit is an Acute Rehab Center providing care to patients with serious medical conditions that have complex and changing conditions, such as multiple trauma, TBI, spinal cord injuries, strokes, brain tumors, and more. As a Rehab RN with Lifespan, you will assist patients with adapting to an altered lifestyle to attain and maintain maximum function. Key Responsibilities Utilize specialized knowledge and clinical skills to provide care to patients with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses Provide leadership by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing care activities provided by ancillary personnel Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients and their families, and community services for patient care outcome and discharge planning Assess and provide appropriate education based on the patient and family needs Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities Utilize all available resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care Identify growth needs and participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations Serve as a role model or preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel About Newport Hospital Newport Hospital was founded in 1873 as a 12-bed cottage hospital and has since grown to a 129-bed state-of-the-art and award-winning health care facility offering a wide array of services to our community.
