We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our Lansing office. This position will be responsible for facilitating the accounts payable process. This includes coding and entering invoices, issuing weekly payments and following up on invoice/payment issues with subcontractors/suppliers. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for purchasing, payment, and reimbursements. Enter invoices Processes and cuts checks for Christman Constructors and Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors Processes bills for various vendors. Ensure subcontractor compliance (Contracts, Waivers, Certificates of Insurance) Processes weekly job costing report Ensure accounts payable and receivable documents are properly filed Monitor accounts payable email account Respond/assist vendors and subcontractors Answer phones Review bids and prequalification's Complete MUST authorizations Review rejected and unapproved invoices Maintain and submit unapproved invoice reports to Project Manager Archive accounts payable files Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Work Environment The job will be conducted in a temperature controlled professional office environment, with moderate noise. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and maintain visual acuity. Expected Hours of Work Full time position, Occasional extended hours and weekends may apply. Required Education and Experience Two (2) years' of relevant work experience or proven established work history for the position High School Diploma or GED, or proven ability to adequately fulfill the position Additional Eligibility Qualifications Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet Excellent data entry skills, analytical, problem solving, decision making skills, and the ability to multi-task.
