Essential Functions: Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns Performs, manages and delegates tax research, tax planning projects Actively participates in client meetings and tax planning efforts Acts as a resource for tax preparers and Firm staff on specific tax issues Communicates important tax and tax developments affecting internal staff and clients Manages, trains, coaches and may be a Career Advisor to staff; prepares performance evaluations Ensures the efficient, accurate, timely flow and delivery of tax returns; meets productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours) Maintain a knowledge of general economic and political trends regarding potential tax or other legislation that affects the business/tax climate Markets Firm services to existing and potential clients; meets business development goals Other Functions: Tax staff should be familiar with IRS Circular 230 Regulations Governing the Practice of Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Actuaries and Enrolled Agents Before the IRS and the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct. It is the individual responsibility of every employee to maintain a current awareness and understanding of and to fully comply with Olsen Thielen's code of ethics, independence rules and quality control practices. Job Requirements B.A./B.S. Degree in Accounting 4-6 years of tax experience CPA certification; MBT is a plus but not required Experience and skills in coaching, mentoring, and providing work direction to staff Strong technical tax consulting skills Excellent communication (oral and written) skills Demonstrated marketing, business development skill s Olsen Thielen is an Equal Opportunity Employer Olsen Thielen is an Equal Opportunity Employer
