WLSSD provides wastewater and solid waste services and oversight for a 530 square mile region around Duluth, Minnesota that includes the cities of Duluth, Cloquet, Hermantown, Proctor, Rice Lake, Carlton, Scanlon, Thomson and Wrenshall, and eight surrounding townships. WLSSD is a special purpose unit of government created by the Minnesota Legislature in 1971 to address serious environmental pollution problems in the lower St. Louis River Basin. Interprets accounting information and fiscal data Accounts receivable process and all applicable reporting Accounts payable process and required reporting including invoice processing and vendor payments Payroll Processing Budgeting **For a full list of job duties, click on the job description below!** What education and experience must you have? Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Accounting and two years full-time professional accounting experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Must possess a valid driver's license. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (jargon for: What should an Accountant know?) Accounting principles, procedures and practices How to audit and analyze data t Understand segregation of duties to safeguard District assets How an accounting cycle pertains to budgeting, accounting, reporting and auditing Work with integrity and be a good team player!
