Accessibility Inspector Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for an Accessibility Inspector in the TrafficEngineering Department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting pay range of $19.62 - $22.55per hour, DOE.ACHD offers an excellent benefit package with medical, vision and dental insurance, paid vacation andholidays and membership in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). Primary Duties: The Accessibility Inspector conducts investigations and inspections of all temporary traffic control (TTC)for construction activities within the public right-of-way and any permanent pedestrian facilities toensure accessibility by people with disabilities. Qualifications: Requires considerable knowledge of ADA and related accessibility laws and regulations; the Manual onUniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); coordinating ADA compliance and accommodation programsas related to accessibility and work occurring within the public right-of-way; ADA and pedestrian designelements and roadway design principles including the ability to interpret roadway plans, geometricdesigns, and roadway safety. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures; goodknowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development; good knowledge of work zonetraffic control signing and traffic safety procedures; ability to perform mathematical engineeringcalculations; ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings; ability to prepareeffective inspection notes and testing documentation. Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license. Must either have or be able to complete training for ATSSA Traffic Control Technician & Traffic ControlSupervisor and obtain a flagger certification within 12 months of employment. Must have good experience with use of computer programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities may be acceptable.
