The Division of Psychiatry and Medicine within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center and , Albert Einstein College of Medicine , is seeking a full-time academic psychiatrist to join our world-renow n ed Abdominal Transplant Service . The Abdominal Transplant Psychiatrist position follows a collaborative care and imbedded model. The new Psychiatrist shares all the resource of a busy transplant center. This includes excellent administrative staff, six social workers, pharmacist, psychologists, care coordinators, nutritionist, and doctors from various disciplines. This position comes with leadership potential dependent on experience. The clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinical care of transplant patients, donor and new transplant evaluations and consultation to transplant patients when they are admitted to the inpatient service and attendance at Transplant selection meetings. While the Psychiatrist is imbedded in the Transplant Center, they are very much part of the Consultation Liaison Team and the Department of Psychiatry. As a team we participate in the education and training of many different learner s including medical students, Psychiatry and Neurology residents, Consultation L iaison and Addiction Fellows , and Psychology Interns. The Moses campus hospital is a 750-bed tertiary care, referral hospital with a wide range of services. While the hospital draws patients from the i tri -state area, the mission of Montefiore is oriented to providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the Bronx communit ies with a focus on social determinants of health and social justice .
