Requisition No: 827625 Agency: Agency for Health Care Administration Working Title: 68064571 - HEALTH SERVICES & FACILITIES CONSULTANT Pay Plan: Career Service Position Number: 68064571 Salary: $1,742.64 biweekly Posting Closing Date: 05/01/2024 Total Compensation Estimator Tool POSITION OVERVIEW The Bureau of Health Facility Regulation seeks a self-motivated individual to serve as a Health Services & Facilities Consultant within the Long-Term Care Services Unit. The successful candidate will function as a member of a cooperative team that is responsible for the registration, licensure, and/or certification of various categories of health care facilities and will be responsible for providing information and technical assistance for all application matters pertaining to licensure and/or certification of assigned programs. A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time critical. The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time. Leave must be requested in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee. The position's hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Adjustments to the hours may be made to accommodate an employee upon request. WHAT YOU WILL DO Assemble and review applications and supporting documents for compliance with licensure requirements within statutory timeframes. Provide information and technical assistance to licensed providers and applicants. Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of applicant and provider records by utilizing efficient work practices and performing quality control reviews of data entered into the state database and record storage system. Work cooperatively with coworkers within the unit, bureau, division, and agency to ensure timely and accurate information is available within the Agency and with other state and federal agencies, as appropriate. Assist with answering the work unit's multi-line phone system and directing callers to the appropriate staff or offices. Perform other related duties as may be assigned. SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES *Knowledge of state statutes, administrative rules and survey tags that regulate and monitor health facility providers. *Knowledge of and ability to operate within various software programs such as Microsoft Office, ASPEN, VERSA and Laserfiche. *Knowledge of and ability to access state rules within the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code. *Knowledge and ability to initiate Agency activities related to bill analysis and rule writing. *Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including participation in group meetings. *Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. *Skill in managing a challenging workload in an efficient manner, assuring that statutory time frames are met. *Ability to work independently. *Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. *Ability to understand and effectively apply both Agency and Bureau rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS *Two (2) years of professional health care licensure, regulation and/or certification experience or; *Two (2) years of professional experience relating to health care delivery or health care administration, or *Three (3) years of nonprofessional health care licensure, regulation and/or certification experience. Preference will be given to applicants with: A bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with one of the following: One or more years' experience working as a licensed health care professional, or professional experience in health care administration, health care planning, or other health, rehabilitation, or social service program; two or more years' experience technical writing; two or more years' experience interpreting statutes and administrative rules.
