Creates a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best.  Utilizes academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments aligned to Athlos’ 3 foundational pillars of a Prepared Mind ,  Healthy Body , and  Performance Character .  Plans, prepares, and delivers instruction that engages students and ensures student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level standards.  Integrate technology to support student learning. Uses data to inform instructional decisions and evaluate student academic growth including summative and interim assessments and daily formative assessments. Differentiates instruction based on individual needs, learning style, and abilities.  Improve instruction and learning with increased accountability for results. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom. Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, academic, social and emotional challenges. Communicate with parents through conferences, telephone calls, e-mails, student planners, school website and other means to discuss the student’s progress. Provide and maintain a safe and supportive environment in the classroom and on the school campus. Maintain appropriate records, prepare progress reports and report cards. Support school initiatives. Classroom and School Culture Communicates a deep belief that all students can learn, and belong, in the classroom.  Consistently implements school-wide management policies.  Creates a positive learning environment by developing classroom rules, systems, and procedures. Holds high expectations for student behavior at all times.  Develops positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.  Creates a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.  Uses appropriate strategies, accommodations, resources, materials and tools for individuals and groups of students. Stay up to date with new developments in subject, subject fields, and in specific subject competency. Maintain a clean and organized classroom that is conducive to learning. Create and maintain a safe environment in the classroom. Communication Communicates professionally with parent/guardians and the community.  Communicates student progress with parent/guardians regularly. Communicates regularly with school leadership and other faculty to maximize effective instructional activities.  Professionalism Models the Athlos culture.  Implements school policies. Tracks student attendance, behavioral issues, and classroom events.  Participates in regular school-wide and individual professional development including professional learning communities.  Pursues ambitious professional development goals and student learning targets. Actively participates in critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and more.  Gives and receives positive and constructive feedback from colleagues.  Honors schedules and deadlines.  Other duties as assigned.  Knowledge and Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Classroom and video platforms such as: Zoom or Teams. Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage the entire classroom. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience working in diverse communities and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives. Demonstrated integrity and high standards in managing information in a confidential and professional manner. Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment. Ability to handle potentially high stress conditions.
