Location: Merchant Location Job Type: Full-time Job Summary: As a Cook and Break Person at Wonderland Children's Academy, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the children in our care. Your responsibilities will include preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and assisting with daily breaks and mealtime routines. Key Responsibilities: Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare balanced and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children. Ensure that all meals meet the dietary guidelines and food safety standards. Accommodate any special dietary requirements or allergies of the children. Kitchen Management: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area. Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are in good working condition. Manage inventory of food and kitchen supplies, and order as needed. Menu Planning: Develop weekly or monthly menus, taking into consideration variety and nutritional value. Collaborate with the daycare director or nutritionist to create menus that meet dietary guidelines. Hygiene and Safety: Follow all health and safety regulations related to food preparation and kitchen cleanliness. Monitor food storage and labeling to prevent spoilage or contamination. Educate and enforce good hygiene practices among staff and children during mealtime. Break Assistance: Assist with supervising children during breaks and mealtime. Foster a positive and engaging environment during meal and snack times. Encourage good eating habits and social interactions among the children. Qualifications: Previous experience in cooking for children or in a daycare setting is a plus. Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary needs is preferred. Food handling and safety certification is an advantage. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements: The ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Agility and dexterity in the kitchen. Working Hours: .6:45 am to 3:30 pmMonday - FridayPowered by JazzHR
