The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving all aspects of facilities maintenance and upkeep. This role may also be referred to as Facilities Assistant. Groundskeeper responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Garbage Pickup - (Daily) Approximately 4 hours/day (20 hours/week) To be done in the morning at beginning of shift. Make sure to remove garbage from all receptacles throughout the marina side of property. This includes receptacles located on the docks, boardwalk, fish cleaning stations, exterior of buildings and throughout the parking lot and common areas. This also includes oversize or overflow items sitting next to the receptacles. Pool Area (Daily - Morning) Organize pool furniture. Clean pool furniture as needed. Clean off pool decking as needed. Best to be done early in the morning before pool is busy. Pick up litter throughout property (Daily) Pick up litter throughout the parking lot, along the fence, pool area, pavilion and other common areas. This also includes picking up fallen palm fronds/debris. Pavilion Furniture (Weekly) Clean the picnic tables, benches and chairs. Clean the decking. Artificial Turf: (Weekly) Clean with leaf blower. Landscape Weeding (Weekly) Pull weeds from landscape beds. Recycle Center (Weekly) Tidy up Recycle Center as needed. DIY Project Area (Weekly) Tidy up DIY Project Area as needed. Potted Plants (Weekly) Water weekly. Hedges (Monthly) Must be trained first. Trim hedges as needed. Clean up debris. Safety and Environmental Responsibilities Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training. Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
