Your Job John Zink Hamworthy Combustion, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is looking to add a Senior CFD Engineer to our team. The preference is this role will be based in Tulsa, OK or Wichita, KS. We will also consider an individual to work remote, with travel up to 25%. The CFD team is part of the Global Product and Technology Group with responsibility for technology development, product development, engineering, and design for our engineered combustion and emissions solutions businesses. This role is pivotal in driving technology and product development as well as in supporting our various technology sectors including Flares, Burners, Thermal Oxidizers, and Vapor Control. Our Team Our global CFD team comprises highly skilled and diverse professionals specializing in fluid dynamics simulations and analysis. Collaborating across borders, we harness our collective expertise to tackle complex engineering challenges, optimize designs, and deliver innovative solutions to our clients worldwide. With a strong focus on cutting-edge technologies and continuous learning, our global team strives to push the boundaries of fluid dynamics simulation in various industries. What You Will Do * You will lead and execute CFD projects related to fired equipment from the proposal stage through analysis, reporting, and presentation. * Foster long-term business growth by contributing to technology, product development, and customer relationships with the ultimate goal of creating virtuous cycles of mutual benefit. * Collaborate closely with combustion engineers to ensure the accuracy of CFD results by comparing them with test data. * Utilize CFD simulation capabilities to enhance product design, grow understanding of our technologies, mitigate process/warranty risks, and support business development by showcasing technical leadership and crafting innovative solutions for clients. * Providing support to the commercial team during the order acquisition phase, showcasing your strong technical capabilities and expertise. The Experience You Will Bring Requirements (Basic Qualifications): * Experience using CFD software such as Ansys FLUENT, StarCCM+, or OpenFOAM * Experience using chemical kinetic software such as Cantera or Chemkin * Knowledge of chemical kinetics - particularly around combustion chemistry * Understanding of fluid mechanicals and thermal sciences * Previous experience in combustion or heat transfer related fields What Will Put You Ahead * Experience working in the oil & gas industry. * Experience with Linux computing systems and compute clusters * Exposure to experimental work. * Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. * Willing to relocate to Tulsa or Wichita * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language. * Passionate about CFD modeling and its applications. For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 - $140,000 At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
