For more information about United Legwear & Apparel Co., please visit: https://www.unitedlegwear.com Job Summary: The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the execution of the company’s environmental and sustainability strategic plans. The Sustainability Coordinator works under the direction of the Sustainability Manager in performing various sustainability initiatives including data collection, documentation, verification, data management, research, analysis, identify innovative programs and planning. The Sustainability Coordinator will work cross-functionally among our internal teams, customers, vendors, and industry organizations to drive positive environmental impact. Essential Functions (Including but not limited to): Research & Development o Provides input for further refinement on sustainable strategies, policies, and procedures o Support to ensure compliance with current and upcoming global sustainability legislative requirements such as EPR, CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR, PPWR, and other Green Deal affiliated legislation o Supports supplier sustainability projects, such as follow up with suppliers on implementation of recommended improvement plan and actions and tracking measurement for impact. o Advise management on sustainability issues including identifying risks and mitigation plan o Proactive in developing new sustainability initiatives o Work with stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, and colleagues to build relationships, share knowledge and collaborate on sustainable solutions The Higg Index o Higg FEM, MSI, PM adoption and data collection o Create data analytic reports to track performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend target improvement goals o Assists with training internal teams on the Higg Index suite of tools Project/Data Management and Reporting o Creates, updates, standardizes, and improves internal process templates or flowcharts o Assists in the preparation of reports on sustainability goals and achievements and corporate responsibility. o Assists with Green Team meetings, create content, and follow-up with team members to deliver action points and meet deadlines o Supports multiple projects in varying stages in the development, design and/ or production process o Communicates with leadership to keep projects aligned with their goals o Monitors progress towards goals and deadlines and provides status reports Industry Knowledge o Attends sustainability industry seminars, events, conferences, or webinars, to remain informed about industry trends, updates, and innovations Other Duties o Performs any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations o Maintains a positive, supportive, and collaborative demeanor with all company employees, supervisors, leadership team members, clients, vendors, visitors, etc. Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or other relevant areas• 2+ years professional experience in project management, data management, or sustainability• Intermediate to computer skills to include Microsoft Office, database systems, and internet.• Experience in measuring and reporting on ESG impacts of projects• Understanding of textile and apparel industry: the material issues, impact areas, and impending and existing policy/regulatory requirements• Strong verbal and written skills required for effective interpersonal communication with internal and external customers.• Effective decision maker• Strong organizational skills and ability work independently and collaboratively to prioritize multiple initiatives with attention to detail• Motivated to seek information needed to fill data gaps by forging relationships, doing research, and tapping into internal and external databases • Ability to read and comprehend complex data and write comprehensive correspondence.• Ability to be extremely flexible and adaptable in completing a diverse range of assignments in a timely manner.
