Summary This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the CEO. The Site Director is responsible for coordinating administrative oversight and planning all phases of instructional leadership for early childhood and early elementary including educational programming, administration, budgetary planning, professional development, discipline, organizational development and compliance. Under the direction of the CEO and Board of Directors, the Site Director is responsible for the daily operation and compliance of the Early Childhood Education and Early Elementary Education programming. Duties Leadership Ensures a productive learning environment through continual collaboration with teachers, students, families and external stakeholders Participates in parent meetings and conferences and acts as a delegate between parents, teachers and students to deal with various issues Oversees the daily management of the school and office Oversees and ensures school?s preparedness for audits and/or state inspections Ensures completion of routine and required paperwork including attendance reports, test results, and licensing information for students, educators, staff and school administration Skilled at supervising and building teams to create an inclusive work environment Knowledgeable and up to date with Department of Children & Families requirements, Milwaukee Parental Choice Program requirements, accreditation standards, and effective non-profit program operations Knowledgeable and up to date with the Early Head Start and Head Start Performance Standards Ensures that necessary maintenance and repairs to school property are completed Coordinates and oversees professional development for staff; provides instruction if needed Oversees and maintains the budgets, approving new programs and expenditures as needed Presides over staff meetings Ability to identify and solve problems Thorough understanding of instructional methodology Offers additional training and guidance as necessary as based on evaluations and state requirements Presides as the School Choice Designee and/or Administrator (Principal) Development Implements and monitors a comprehensive fundraising plan to expand philanthropic support of the organization Identifies and strengthens relationships with community stakeholders Fosters strong donor and sponsor stewardships Allow opportunities for board members and other stakeholders to host colleagues to visit Malaika to learn more about the organization and garner financial support Performs networking at selected community and leadership events Speaks on behalf of the organization with media outlets as needed Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals Human Resources Assists with the promotion of diversity and inclusion in recruiting and retention of staff Maintain contracted revenue by achieving performance goals, regulatory compliance and stable environment Skilled in effectively handling conflict and complaints Able to plan, develop, and/or provide in-service training and staff evaluations Assist with disciplinary action as needed Assists with hiring process when needed Participates in and ensures staff complete the evaluation process Accounting Coordinate with external auditor, annual financial audit and compliance with Milwaukee Parental Choice financial regulations Helps develop and manage annual operating budget. This includes monitoring transactions to ensure expenditures are within budget and there is proper oversight to minimize potential for fraud and inappropriate use of funds Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounts Federal Food Programs Ensures the integrity of operations for both the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) and the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Transportation Adhere to all requirements for the Department of Children and Families. Adhere to all requirements for the Department of Public Instruction. Including the requirements for the Local Education Agency (LEA)/Milwaukee Public Schools. Requirements Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited institution in Early Childhood Education, Education and/or a related field. Minimum of five years experience in a management or supervisory role in one or more of the following settings; early childhood center, elementary school or nonprofit organization. Strong communication (verbal and written), both on-site and within the community. Proven track record of high performance and exceptional results. Ability to plan and organize to meet strict deadlines. Ability to define issues and resolve them effectively and efficiently. Computer literate, including Microsoft Office programs, virtual meeting platforms and other technology platforms.
