Job Purpose As a Senior Mechanical Engineer professional, you will lead, organize and contribute to the design and development activities of batteries, chargers and other complex energy storage-based systems. Your technical expertise in designs of injection molding and sheet metal part is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with management, electrical engineers, drafters, technicians, and manufacturing personnel to design, and develop new products. Contribute to possibly oversee a team to: Utilize 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to generate designs of systems, assemblies, and components. Generate comprehensive technical drawings and schematics for mechanical systems and components while working within the configuration control systems ensuring accuracy, consistency. Develop development sources for mechanical system components. Perform structural and thermal analyses on designs. Provide expert leadership and troubleshooting for the construction and refinement of battery system prototypes to production. Facilitate the seamless transition of new battery products from the prototype stage to full-scale production. Engineer specialized fixtures and assembly aids tailored for battery production, optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality. Identify and resolve technical issues within the supply chain. Engage in the creation and refinement of project proposals, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with client requirements, and alignment with organizational goals. Compensation Range: $ 120,000 to $140,000 yearly salary. Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master's preferred. Minimum of 10 + years hands on experience developing products and working in engineering production department. Experience with SolidWorks. Must possess experience in metal and plastic injection molding. Battery packing experience. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and processes. Experience mentoring and developing engineering team. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong Customer/Client focus, technical capacity and discretion. General Job Requirements The candidate must be able to work in an office environment and conduct hands on testing and evaluations in an Engineering Lab and being comfortable encountering electrical, mechanical and chemical components. Possess a strong ability to work in teams and have a positive attitude. Ability to bend, sit, stand, operate office equipment, frequently move and or lift objects 10 lbs., and on occasion lift up to 40 lbs.
