This position will support Enterprise Asset Management (MATRiX) organization in Southern Company Gas. The role plays a versatile part within our project teams, offering a broad range of skills to support various aspects of project execution. The individual is responsible for providing comprehensive support to our projects through detailed process documentation, effective project communication, and proactive project support; however, the responsibilities extend beyond these tasks. This position is equipped with an in-depth understanding of business environments, aiming to support business process improvements and system solutions that contribute to the success of the enterprise. It is dedicated to fostering end-to-end business process improvements, utilizing technical expertise and analytical acumen. The individual will work collaboratively across different project workstreams, providing essential support to ensure the effective implementation of business-aligned solutions and applications. This position may be filled as Business Analyst III (GSE04) or Senior (GSE05). Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position. The selected candidate could work out of the following locations: Georgia or Illinois This position follows a Hybrid Work Schedule. Employees are required to be in the office Three (3) Days per week. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This role will be responsible for utilizing technical acumen, analytical capabilities, and collaborative skills to contribute to project success, ensuring that delivered solutions are effective and align with the organization's strategic objectives and includes but is not limited to: Ensure business processes and technology are aligned. Aligning business processes with technological capabilities to ensure seamless operations. Offering analytical expertise and business insight to aid in the development of technical solutions. Identify, document and explain improvements based on project data analysis. Provide support throughout the testing process to ensure successful implementation and functionality of solutions. Conduct comprehensive requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional specifications. Perform gap analysis to determine the differences between current and desired states of business processes. Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications. Create detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for the business. Work closely with tech leads to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications. Supporting the creation of change management documentation, including FAQs, talking points, and other resources to facilitate smooth transitions. Ensuring all communications are aligned with the company's brand, values, and culture to maintain consistency and trust. Crafting clear, concise, and engaging communication materials, such as emails, newsletters, presentations, and training content. Analyzing data from surveys and feedback mechanisms to measure communication effectiveness and employee readiness, using insights to drive improvements. Participating in change impact assessments to understand the implications of changes and to develop targeted communication plans accordingly. Coordinating with project teams to ensure timely dissemination of information regarding upcoming changes, milestones, and expectations. Maintaining an up-to-date repository of communication assets and materials that can be easily accessed and utilized by the organization. Develop and administer both internal and external surveys and provide full analysis of survey results. Provide backup assistance to other roles within the department, as needed. Participate in special projects, as requested. Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Business Analyst III (GSE04) Education, Certifications/Licenses: Required: Bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Technology or a related field / equivalent work experience. Work Experience: Required: 2-4 years combined experience with the utilities or other related experience. 1-3 years of experience analyzing data and process improvement. Demonstrated ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work. Knowledge of business practices and trends within the natural gas industry, with a willingness to expand expertise in this area. Familiarity in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other presentation software. Knowledge of business-related systems (i.e. Click, Asset Repository, GCMA, CCB, etc.) Preferred: Ability to demonstrate flexibility in supporting various project aspects, including but not limited to process improvement, system enhancements, and strategic initiative implementation. Experience contributing to project environments with a focus on delivering results within allocated budgets and timeframes. Capability to handle multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously in a team setting, collaborating effectively with diverse project leaders from various companies and business units. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management. Understanding of general management business practices and techniques, with a focus on continual learning and application. Flexibility to support various tasks and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment. Senior Business Analyst (GSE05) Education, Certifications/Licenses: Required: Bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Technology or a related field / equivalent work experience. Related Work Experience: Required: 3-5 years combined experience with the utilities or other related experience. 3+ years of experience analyzing data and process improvement. Demonstrated ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work. Ability to interpret and analyze complex data to inform business decisions. Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards within the utilities sector. Knowledge of business processes and procedures, including exception processing Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as other presentation software. Knowledge of business-related systems (i.e. Click, Asset Repository, GCMA, CCB, etc.) Preferred: Strong oral and written communication skills and experience leveraging these skills to interact with all levels of management. Versatility in project support, encompassing areas such as process optimization, system enhancements, and the execution of strategic initiatives. Experience working in a project environment to deliver functionality within a budget and timeframe. Experience managing multiple tasks and deliverables in a cross functional team environment, working with diverse project leaders across multi-company and business units. Must have extensive knowledge of general management business practices and techniques. Ability to support multiple resources and adapt to changing priorities.
