The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology, or life sciences, possess superior academic credentials, and demonstrate strong skills in writing, interpersonal communication, and patent prosecution.Duties:Draft and prosecute biotechnology patent applications across diverse areas such as biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and life sciences.Conduct rigorous patentability assessments, prior art searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses.Provide strategic intellectual property advice and counsel to clients in the biotechnology industry.Collaborate closely with inventors, scientists, and technical experts to comprehend inventions and draft detailed patent specifications.Assist clients in managing patent portfolios, including advising on patent strategy, enforcement, and licensing agreements.Represent clients in biotechnology patent disputes and litigation matters when necessary.Requirements:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or Life Sciences.2-6 years of experience specifically in drafting and prosecuting biotechnology patent applications.Admission to at least one State Bar (District of Columbia Bar preferred) and ideally registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Outstanding academic credentials with a proven academic record.Experience conducting patent searches and analyses.Proficiency in drafting complex patent applications and legal documents.Education and Certifications:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or Life Sciences.Admission to at least one State Bar (District of Columbia Bar preferred).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is highly desirable.Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.Team player with the capability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.Commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.
