The City of Chesapeake is accepting applications for a Fall 2024 internship in Information Technology (IT) providing IT customer service as an intern on our Service Desk Team. The internship will provide valuable experience in the following areas: Answer Service Desk telephone calls. Provide frontline technical assistance to users. Resolve Tier 1 computer issues/problems. Use the Cherwell service desk software ticketing system. Develop skills such as excellent IT customer service, attention to detail, communication, and organization. Other duties as assigned. The IT Service Desk Intern will be required to conduct a meeting and give a brief presentation on what was learned during the Internship. Students participating in the Internship Program will be responsible for the following: Providing their own transportation to and from work, Arriving at the work site at the time designated by the worksite supervisor. Performing the tasks assigned by the vocational instructor/coordinator and the worksite supervisor in an efficient manner. Demonstrating honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, appropriate dress, and a willingness to learn. Conforming to the guidelines of the internship worksite.
