Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Materials Coordinator to join our Specialty ingredients G.P., business at our Hopewell, VA location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company, and the logistics function. This position will report to the Compliance Manager. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to: * Maintain and update work procedures for the order processing and warehouse operations staff as needed * Manages volume and work through scheduling of employees to meet all service, cost and quality requirements * Use Enterprise Resource Planning System (SAP) to: Process Shipment Orders, internal transfers, and ship material between Ashland plants * Train and develop new employees that enter into the order processing and allocation group * Process returned material shipments in SAP * Investigate and respond to logistics customer complaints * Oversee finished product cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy * Addresses shipping errors * Performs internal audits of logistics activities * Communicates shipping dates, delays and obtains additional information when needed from customer reps to complete the order * Prepares and maintains appropriate records of all orders received (includes delivery forms, bill of lading and shipment labels – attention to detail very important) * Verifies accuracy and makes adjustments/corrections to orders as needed * Post goods issues transactions in SAP to close out delivery/shipment orders * Performs other related duties as assigned, for the purpose, of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department. * Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety * Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting * Supervisory experience * Minimum of 3 year of hands on experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, SAP preferred * 6-12 months’ experience working in a fast-paced warehouse/industrial environment * Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times * The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different The following skills sets are preferred by the business unit: * BA or BS degree in Business Administration or Logistics is preferred Third party recruiters and agencies (“Agency”) should not contact employees of Ashland or its subsidiaries directly.
