Discover how AMN Healthcare is crafting incredible futures, one amazing career at a time.Job SummaryThe Administrator II, Network Systems & Telecom * Design and deploy networks based on business and technical requirements. * Partner with project and program managers to meet overall timelines and resolution of issues. * Operate and fix networks to identify and resolve issues quickly. * Take a lead role in engaging and mitigating outage-causing events or issues. * Validate problem descriptions, perform detailed problem diagnosis, and track and update problems in the trouble-ticketing system. * Perform non-critical investigations into functionality that is not working as desired. * Engage deeply in the sustainment function to proactively analyze network parameters such as capacity and availability to fix issues before they cause an outage. * Review, consult, and prepare for the introduction of planned change to the production environment. * Participate in rotating "on call" schedule with other team members, including weekends. * Partner with teams to plan and implement software code upgrades and device maintenance. * Partner with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to provide mentorship and input on operational process improvements. * Provide feedback to infrastructure architects on design issues or improvements and input into the design process for new initiatives.Job ResponsibilitiesSample the first 6-month work you're doing. * Quickly integrate into the environment and understand network architecture, organization, and process/procedures. * Deploy capacity into a data center based on demand. * Participate in incident bridges and serve as the networking engineering resource to fix and mitigate outages. * Take ownership of at least two data centers to perform all sustainment engineering functions. * Partner with the SRE team to identify and tackle one network process issue. * The candidate should have a proven foundation in networking, including routing, switching, security, and load balancing. * At least 7 years of experience working on Internet and data center networks. * Possess a solid understanding of and experience with most network technologies: BGP, OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, IPSEC, and SNMP. * Deep, hands-on experience with TCP/IP protocols, including capturing and analyzing traffic with Wireshark and/or other tools. * Familiarity with Cisco IOS and Pan OS operating systems is required. * Palo Alto and Cisco ASA knowledge and experience are strongly desired. * Experience with network monitoring applications such as Nagios, SolarWinds, New Relic, and Splunk is a plus. * Ability to partner with peers who are globally distributed is a key part of this role. * Passion for customer experiences and focus on delivering high-quality support. * Good communication skills and appreciation for customers. * Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to deal with ambiguity.Key Skills * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. * Network administration and configuration - LAN/WAN (Local Area Network/Wide Area Network). * Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Additional Experience * Experience with ServiceNow or other IT Operations platformsQualificationsEducation & Years of Experience * Associate's Degree or equivalent experience plus 7-10 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-12 years of work experienceCertifications * Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Security (Preferred) * Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Route/ Switch (Preferred) * Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) (Preferred) * Fortinet Certified Professional Network Security / Security OperationsWork Environment / Physical Requirements * Work is performed in an office/home office environment. * Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. * Team members may be asked to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. This position requires the ability to move equipment or packages up to 25 pounds. * Team members may occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to service the lights and/or ceiling fans.
