The Opportunity: The Senior Accountant will assist in providing accounting support to our client with the performance of the account and system reconciliation and preparation of financial statements- interim and year-end adjusting entries. The following are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to lead in this role. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares and independently reviews client financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and general ledger. Prepare and review financial and statistical reports, analyze unusual items on financial reports and notify accounting services team leaders when necessary. Assists with projects related to internal controls, legacy system selection, and other consulting projects as assigned Develops and maintains a thorough working knowledge of accounting software packages. Gain a thorough understanding of the financial operations of industry-specific engagements (i.e. HUD) Independently identifies problem areas early, researches technical issues, and proactively resolves issues. Develop an understanding of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) in the specific loan industry. Completes non-complex and some complex account reconciliations and recording transactions. All facets of the monthly quarterly, annual adjusting, and closing process You Have:   A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Knowledge of FedGAAP, including USSGL Budgetary and Credit Reform Accounting 3 or more years of accounting experience Financial Reporting on Direct Loan and Loan Guarantee Programs Understanding of OMB Circular 11, CFO Act, and FASAB Standards Extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, Groupings) and Access Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials 8.0 and above Experience with internal control reviews and assessments, business process development, systems validation testing, posting model development and analytical reviews and research Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to perform work that requires attention to detail, analytical ability, and organization Nice If You Have:   Willing to work late hours during monthly & quarterly closings Must possess problem-solving/analytical and client service and coordination skills Able to perform work that requires effective time management, multi-tasking, attention to detail, analytical ability, and organization Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; a minimum of an agency-specific Public Trust clearance is required within the first two years of your employment. Salary Salary at Williams Adley is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $100,000.00 (annualized USD) based on experience, skills, and certifications. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Williams Adley’s total compensation package for employees.
