Job Description: The Quality Programs Analyst is responsible for the quality assurance for both new and existing vehicle models produced at MTMUS (Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.). This role includes ensuring high quality during the introduction of new models and addressing quality issues post-launch, with a focus on program-oriented approaches. Continuously promoting maintenance and improvement throughout the program lifecycle is essential, requiring a combination of analytical skills, quality assurance knowledge, and proficiency in project management support. Quality Assurance Project Support - 40% Establishes the quality build-up plans for new model vehicles based on the program milestone defined by MPDS (Mazda Product Development System) including lessons learned from the previous program. Communicate details of the plans to internal departments including MC Quality Division to ensure effective implementation. Prep and facilitate the Quality Meeting (Chairman: MNAO President) and collaborate with related business units to create a combined proposal for determining the next steps in the build phase of new model launches. Leads concern meetings using the "Concern Tracker (Concern Management System)" and facilitates the resolution activities for issues during new model launches. Engages in data analysis, reports high-priority quality concerns, and proposes remedial measures. Summarizes the Quality Status of Suppliers to establish the strategy for High-Risk Suppliers' Activities during the Mass Production Phase. Ensures timely execution and successful implementation of quality enhancement measures. Data Analysis - 40% Compiles and analyzes data to inform management of necessary changes and direction regarding quality targets for new model vehicles (e.g., Warranty Cost, IQS: Initial Quality Study) and KPI for vehicle and parts quality (e.g., DPU: Defect per Unit, PPM: Parts per Million) at each milestone. Utilizes data analysis methodologies to monitor and track issues both at the plant and in the field, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. After the Start of Production (SOP), analyzes and closely monitors the Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - including Defects Per Hundred Vehicles (DPHV) and the Number of Sorting Items. Reports findings to each Business Unit (BU) leader to accelerate mass production quality. Assists in developing and maintaining diverse dashboards to track crucial quality metrics, and creates action plans to achieve quality targets. Department Development & Support - 20% Supports QA team in assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal policies and procedures, and continually enhances them. Reviews documentation with meticulous attention to detail for accuracy, retention, version control, and document integrity. Coordinate content creation initiatives for employee educational program and deliver in-service training as required. Develop and improve efficient processes for both interdepartmental and intradepartmental operations. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with MMVO to develop strategies for North American business operations and enhance continuous improvement initiatives for suppliers. Qualifications and Other Requirements: Education (Minimum): Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Quality Assurance, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience in lieu of degree. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, to include: One (1) year experience and clear understanding of program/project support. Automotive experience in the Quality field is a strong plus. Proven track record in the following: Supplier/Vendor Management Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to work flexibly in a multicultural and diversified work environment. Ability to communicate industry-specific information clearly and professionally at all levels and with external stakeholders. Ability to prioritize, organize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively through both verbally and in writing. Analytical and conceptual thinking through logic, reasoning, innovative ideas and strategic approaches. Experience with data analysis techniques and tools, including Power BI, and skilled in effective data visualization. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Good technical training to convey complex information in presentations. Bilingual fluency in English/Japanese or English/Spanish preferred.
