Position: Youth Minister Qualifications: Must be a person of vision, especially for ministry specific to the needs of those you lead. A knowledge of God’s Word with a calling and ability to teach it. The ability to supervise and motivate people of all ages. A visible hunger and passion for God. Display Biblical character and morals in all facets of life, being an example in faith, word, purity, love and godliness. Possess organizational, planning, and leadership skills. A desire to strive for personal and ministry excellence. Relational and communication skills that are focused on positively influencing people. A love for teens is a must. Background check required Work With Lead Pastor to Fulfill the Following Responsibilities: Oversee weekly program(s) for middle and high school students where the Word of God is creatively taught and teens are engaged and challenged to grow in their relationship with God and one another. Involve teens in ministry by seeking out their abilities and providing opportunities to use the gift God has given them. Recruit, train, inspire, schedule, and meet with volunteer workers to assist in ministry to children. All volunteer workers should undergo background checks and be approved by the Pastor before serving. Maintain a secure environment for teens and families. Study God’s Word regularly and spend time in prayer daily. Work within church budget to seek and secure necessary equipment and materials to enhance the programs. This should also include materials that would assist in furthering your education and knowledge of ministry. Attend an annual conference/seminar to continually educate and edify yourself in the area of ministry and spiritual refreshment. (The church will offset the cost of this to the best of our ability). Research ministry and cultural trends and work to incorporate them in a way that is consistent with the vision and values of Liberty Church. Attend adult services and functions whenever possible. If a conflict arises leaders are expected to communicate this to the pastor as far in advance as possible. Communicate with the Pastor regularly to discuss the vision, plans and goals of ministry. Work to develop a plan to achieve these goals. Give reports and input into church leadership meetings and services. Stand behind and support both verbally and prayerfully all other leaders in the church showing unity at all times. Strategically plan, promote, and supervise regular activities for the purpose of connecting teens, promoting growth, and strengthening commitment. Support/honor parents in all conversations with the teens. Maintain a database of teens and young adults for follow up calls, correspondence, and relational development. Support the doctrine and vision of Liberty Church. Uphold and show support to the church at all times through prayer, tithing, and attitude. Hours and pay very flexible based on experience and vision.
