As a Laboratory Technician at Castle Biosciences, your day will be filled with exciting tasks that keep the lab running smoothly. From processing samples and conducting quality control checks to providing essential laboratory support, you'll be instrumental in the day-to-day operations. Your work will involve setting up and maintaining equipment for staining and imaging, preparing reagents, managing specimens, and assisting with inventory and quality management duties. You'll play a vital role in ensuring that equipment is properly set up, monitored, and maintained, conducting inventory checks, stocking consumables, and managing slide specimens with precision and care. To excel as a Laboratory Technician at Castle Biosciences in Pittsburgh, PA, you need a blend of technical expertise and behavioral competencies. Possessing at least an associate degree or nearing completion of such a program is essential, coupled with a minimum of 6 months (preferred 1 year) of laboratory experience emphasizing organization and inventory management. Proficiency in software tools like Microsoft Word and Excel, clinical lab methodologies, regulatory requirements, and analytical laboratory instruments is key. Demonstrating a commitment to the company's vision and mission, along with a proactive attitude towards learning and gaining experience, is crucial. Your ability to maintain confidentiality, showcase strong organizational and time management skills, and effectively communicate will set you up for success in this role. SCHEDULE This role may require flexible shift starts to meet operational demands.
