Our microfluidic flow cytometry platforms enable biomedical scientists to analyze and sort cells required for drug discovery, single cell-omics, cloning, and basic research. Job Summary Due to our growth, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a team of researchers, engineers, and scientists as a remote Field Service Engineer for the Midwest and South/Southeast regions of the United States. The position is remote; with a flexible location near one of the following metro areas: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta.We are looking for a team player with a passion for science and technology. Responsibilities and Duties Field Service: Perform on-site installations, upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance on NanoCellect Biomedical products. Utilize CRM software to document service work accurately and promptly. Manage spare parts (ordering, usage, returns). Assess customer needs and develop service plans. Act as a key representative for support and engineering teams on customer escalations. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Frequent travel to the customer site is required; expected amount: 60% - 75%. Product Development: Contribute to the development of new technologies and products, such as test proof-of concept and prototype systems, provide feedback on serviceability and write technical documentation. Conduct design reviews of verification protocols and reports. Generate/maintain/improve hardware verification protocols, derive pass/fail criteria, implement protocols, and generate verification reports. Perform integration testing of hardware, software, and firmware. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree required. 3+ years of relevant experience in a field engineering position. 1+ years of experience in the operation or service of flow cytometers is preferred but not required. Knowledge of optical detection systems, and familiarity with handling and troubleshooting its components, such as PMTs, lasers, mirrors, and filters. Experience with microfluidic systems is a plus. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles. Aptitude for learning and understanding computer and IT systems/processes. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Good technical writing abilities are a plus. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible with respect to working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours. Ability to travel 60% - 75% to the customer site. This position requires the physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to maneuver in confined spaces and reach overhead. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for manipulating tools and equipment. Ability to work in various environments, including temperature-controlled labs and potentially hazardous areas (following safety protocols). Benefits and Perks Starting annual base salary compensation range from $80,000 - $90,000 (DOE).
