Senior/Principal Quality Control Associate

The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) is a Member-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the bioeconomy of the United States. As part of its technical efforts, ARMI is applying advanced automation and analytical techniques to the development of scalable, consistent, and cost-effective manufacturing processes for cells, tissues, and organs. ARMI is seeking an Associate Scientist to participate, as part of a team, in the development of study designs and perform experiments with the goal of optimizing manufacturing processes for cells, tissues, and organs and transitioning them to scalable, closed automation on the ARMI Tissue Foundry manufacturing platform. The Senior/Principal Quality Control Associate will work cross-functionally. The position requires excellent responsiveness to the needs of individuals and teams within ARMI and throughout its ecosystem, including ARMI's engineering partners and the ARMI's Deep Tissue Characterization Center . The role will be highly focused on bench lab work and documentation development to facilitate the successful tech transfer, scale-up, and automation of manufacturing processes for various cell-based products. Responsibilities: Contribute to team-based process development activities to implement a phase-appropriate quality control laboratory, including process gaps analysis, process optimization, and process development/qualification. Responsible for organizing, planning, and executing experimental study designs with scientists that support developing and transferring quality control testing of flexible cell and cell-based products and processes. Support the development and execute creation/documentation of standard operating procedures and quality control methods. Work with area management and quality assurance to develop and implement area-appropriate GMP processes. Cross-train on multiple laboratory methods to support laboratory testing needs as required. Bring microbiology expertise to support the development and execution of microbiological test methods. Summarize and present data in group meetings. Collaborate to achieve ARMI's technical and strategic objectives. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of lab activities. Contribute to the effective management of laboratory equipment and supplies. Requirements: M.S. or B.S. with 4+ years of relevant experience supporting research and development in life sciences, preferably in microbiology, molecular biology or biochemistry. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to execute complex culture protocols and maintain simultaneous experiments Strong verbal and written technical communication skills with both scientific and non-scientific audiences Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Motivated and willing to acquire new skills and able to learn quickly Working knowledge of microbiological methods such as sterility, environmental monitoring and growth promotion. GMP or GLP experience or similarly detailed reporting. Experience in quality control (preferred). Process development and/or DOE experience (preferred) Knowledge of analytical methods such as real-time PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, mechanical testing, histology, immunostaining, etc. (preferred). Experience in technology transfer (preferred)
