Acture Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Operations Technical Writer for a contract position. The Technical Writer will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining technical documentation for our IT systems and products. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation. This project is expected to total approximately one thousand hours. Your Role: As the IT Operations Technical Writer, you will report directly to the Director of Managed Services. This role involves conducting discovery sessions, gathering detailed IT information, and creating comprehensive IT documentation, including Helpdesk Articles, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, excellent critical thinking skills, and outstanding writing abilities. Your Impact: Conduct discovery sessions to gather detailed information on IT systems, processes, and procedures. Create online guides, reference docs, and tutorials for technical audiences. Collaborate with IT operations personnel and the Technical Writer to ensure accurate and comprehensive data for documentation. Collaborate with stakeholders to help drive customer engagement and adoption, which may include: Engaging with Support on Knowledge Base articles and Community questions. Authoring and editing technical blog posts. Developing implementation guides, migration guides, best practices, and FAQs. Identify and interview key stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather necessary information. Document current IT operations processes and workflows. Develop, write, and maintain detailed IT documentation, including Helpdesk Articles, runbooks, and SOPs. Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and usability. Ensure all discovered information is accurately documented and communicated to the Technical Writer. Participate in meetings and discussions with IT teams to stay informed about changes and updates. Assist in the creation of user guides and training materials. Provide technical support and expertise during the documentation process. Manage documentation projects, including setting timelines and meeting deadlines. Who You Are: Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations and or technical writing within an IT environment. Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in using IT management and documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, and other relevant software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks. Familiarity with Cisco phone systems and M365 tenant migrations. Experience working in a hybrid work environment. Must be a US Citizen. Work Schedule: This is a contract position with an expected total of approximately one thousand project hours. The position is hybrid, located in Troy, NY, Monday through Friday, flexible hours.
