ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, a staff person must be able to perform each of these essential duties satisfactorily. Essential functions can include any of the following tasks, overall knowledge, skills, and/ or ability noted. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties listed below: Demonstrates the ability to participate as an integral member of the treatment team, including attendance at program staff meetings, treatment planning meetings and assigned committees. Demonstrates the ability to work closely with the Utilization Review Coordinator, doctors and therapists in liaison with insurance companies to coordinate necessary documentation and discharge planning. Demonstrates the ability to assist the treatment team in the preparation of the initial treatment plan and the master treatment plan, to include, working with the parents, families and others to encourage active involvement in treatment of the patient. Demonstrates the ability to, with informed consent, communicate with referral sources or other mental health professionals on progress in treatment of patient and, where appropriate, involves referral sources in treatment planning process to include discharge planning and aftercare plans and arrangements and arrange distant family therapy as appropriate. Demonstrates the ability to work closely with community agencies to ensure that the needs of the patients are met concerning vocational training, employment, or other areas of community integration, and integrate information obtained from community agencies into the treatment of the patient where appropriate. Demonstrates the ability to participate in quality management and utilization review. Demonstrates the ability to work closely with other members of the treatment team to identify the needs of the patient, to include social, legal, family, etc. and take appropriate action to see that the needs of the patients are being met. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation and teamwork with co-workers, supervisors, patients and visitors. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to organization ’ s policies/procedures and code of ethics. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a safe work environment by following safety practices within the center and immediately reporting any safety concerns/issues to the Safety Officer. Demonstrates the ability to follow policies and procedures regarding patient rights, confidentiality, and privacy. Demonstrates the ability to accurately complete client records in a timely and legible manner. Demonstrates the ability to accurately complete client transition record in a timely and legible manner. Demonstrates the ability to provide detailed information about procedures or treatments to family and other caregivers. Demonstrates understanding and respect for cultural and religious beliefs of people served. Demonstrates the ability to recognize and report suspected abuse and neglect according to policy, procedure, and law. Demonstrates the ability to explain procedures and events in language understood by people served. Demonstrates the ability to respond to people served based on developmental age. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to infection control policies and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to perform other duties assigned as related to the position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Considerable knowledge of the principles of clinical treatment and social casework of individuals in mental health. Continuous organized and self-learning activities related to areas of State and Federal regulations as they apply to case-management and the delivery of mental health services in the State of Arkansas. A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related area, and two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient or outpatient mental health setting, and/or comparable experience.
